“Verkin eru rannsókn á átökum mannsins og náttúrunnar. Hvernig maðurinn mótmælir vetrinum og reynir að ýta honum til hliðar. Í þessum átökum verður til nýtt landslag sem er í byrjun náttúrulegt, verður síðan manngert en náttúran endar svo á því að eyða því. Einnig eru verkin eins konar sáttatillaga mín við norðlenska veturinn en ég hef búið á snjóléttasta svæði landsins síðustu tvo áratugi”.
“The works are an investigation of the conflicts between man and nature. How man protests winter and tries to push it away, to be able to get on his way. In this conflict a new landscape is born which at first is natural, then becomes man made, but in the end nature destroys it. The works is also a kind of peace-gift from me to the Nordic winter, as I have resided in the least snowy part of Iceland for the last two decades”.
